Aor Sutthiprapha is a Thai born, Bangkok based artist and she also call herself a ‘contemplative ceramic practitioner’. Making ceramics is her meditation. Two things happened simultaneously and cannot be separated from each other. She emphasize the interrelationship between the state of the mind and the concrete forms of ceramic. For her, the repetitive and time-consuming processes of ceramics resonate with the principles of mindfulness practice in Buddhist philosophy. Weaving Indigo series and Analog collections are the fruits from such contemplation. Movements and motions may at times create indistinct shapes with the emotions and thoughts arising within, just like a singer once sang; “The more you stay the same, The more they seem to change” Corinne Bailey Rae.
